Getting Started

Login

Log into tulanedoctors.com using your Tulane credentials. Go to https://tulanedoctors.com/login

Once you are logged in, “Admin” will appear in the navigation bar. Click on it to gain access to the administration section of the search directory.

User types

There are two types of users, Web Admins and Physician Managers.

Web Admins have ultimate control. They create the Departments and Clinic Locations. They then create Physician Managers in association with one or more departments.

Physician Managers are then designed to be respobisble for the bulk of content creation. They only have the ability to create edit and delete physicians according to the department or departments they were assigned.


Web Admin

Creating Departments (Web Admin Only)

Before you assign your Physician Managers, begin by creating your departments. This is done easily by clicking on “Departments” underneath Web Admin. If you haven’t created any departments yet this page will be empty.

Click on “Create Department”.

Type in the name of the department and click “Save”.

Now the new department will automatically populate appropriate search filters.

Creating Clinic Locations (Web Admin Only)

When your Physician Managers create a profile for their clinical physicians they will need to be associated with a clinic. Create and manage your clinic locations by clicking on “Clinic Locations” underneath Web Admin. If you haven’t created any clinic locations yet this page will be empty.

Click on “Create A Clinic Location”.

Fill in all the details of the clinic and click “Save”.

Now the new Clinic Location will automatically populate appropriate search filters.

Creating Physician Managers (Web Admin Only)

Once you’ve created departments and clinic locations, start creating the physician managers who will be managing the doctor profiles in each department. Click on “Site Users” under “Web Admin”.

Click “Create A New User”.

Enter the new user’s information. Physician Managers must have a valid Tulane email address in order to complete this process.

When you click on the “Departments” dropdown, you’ll see a list of all departments, Check the departments that apply to the Physician Managers you are creating. The Physician Manager is only able to create physician profiles for departments they are assigned to.

Creating Web Admins (Web Admin Only)

Web Admins can create other Web Admins to assist in delagating the creation of Physician Managers. Click on “Site Users” under “Web Admin”.

Click “Create A New User”.

Enter the new user’s information. Web Admins must have a valid Tulane email address in order to complete this process.

Click on “Site Administrator” in the dropdown.


Physician Managers

Physician Managers are the core content creators for physician profiles. Idealy each department could have their own Physician Manager, but Physician Managers can belong to multiple departments as well. There are currently two types of physicians that Physician Managers can create, Clinical and Research.

Clinical Physicians belong to a clinic location.

When searched they will appear with the phone number of their clinic in order to schedule an appointment.

Clicking on a search result will expand the physician profile to reveal more information.

Research Physicians have no clinical association

When searched for they will display a profile image, prefix, name and provider degree and associated department.

Creating Clinical Physicians

To create a clinical physician, under Physican Manager, click on “Clinical Physicians”.

You will see a list of all clinical physicians currently managed by your department. Click on “Create A New Physician”.

Add the profile image by clicking on “Select a photo from your computer”. This will upload the image to the profile cropper tool. Use the cropper tool to get a good profile of the physicians face and click “Crop”.

a modal window will appear with your cropped result. You may not get it right at first. Just adjust the cropper tool again and click “Crop” until it’s right.

NOTE: images larger than 800px in height will get cut off when uploaded.

Prefix and Provider degree can optionally be left blank, which depends on title preference of the physician.

Click “Create”.

Creating Research Physicians

To create a research physician, under Physican Manager, click on “Research Physicians”.

You will see a list of all research physicians currently managed by your department. Click on “Create A New Physician”.

Edit A Physician

To edit either a clinical or research physician click the respective “Research Physician” or “Clinical Physician” under Physician Manager.

Hover over the image of the physician you’d like to edit. Click the image when it says “Edit Physician”.

The edit screen looks exactly like the create screen. Make any changes and click “Save”.
